About this competition
Real Madrid will be doubly eager to claim the 2025/2026 La Liga trophy after Barcelona won it by four points last season. It looks like it’ll go down to the wire once again as the two Spanish giants continue to distance themselves from the pack and make it a two horse race. Will Barcelona make it back to back La Liga titles or can Real Madrid claim a record 36th league title? Elsewhere, Atlético Madrid, Villarreal, Celta Vigo and Real Betis are all in contention for the European spots. Athletic Club and Rayo Vallecano will be hoping for a good run of form in the last stages of the season to get closer to their league finishes of 4th and 8th last season. At the bottom of the table, Mallorca, Levante, Real Oviedo, Elche, Alaves, Sevilla and Real Vallecano are doing everything they can to avoid finishing in the three relegation spots.

Will anyone ever break Messi’s incredible record of 50 for scoring the most goals in a single La Liga campaign? No one has come close in the last decade and it looks like this season will be no different. Kylian Mbappe looks set to claim the Golden Boot for a second year running. An impressive feat considering the Frenchman made his La Liga debut in 2024. Can he break his personal record of 31 goals from last season? Last season, his closest competitor was Robert Lewandowski, but this season Mallorca’s Vedat Muriqi, Osasuna’s Ante Budimir and Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres of Barcelona provide his closest competition for the accolade.
