- Recommended bets:
- Belinda Bencic +5.5 games on handicap v Iga Swiatek
- Belinda Bencic to beat Iga Swiatek
- Jannik Sinner -8.5 games on handicap v Daniel Elahi Galan
- Over 40.5 games in Roman Safiullin v Denis Shapovalov
Day seven of Wimbledon is upon us and following some rainy days in south-west London, they are still struggling to keep to schedule at the All England Club.
There is plenty of good fourth-round action for customers to get involved with, though, and title favourites Novak Djokovic, who meets Hubert Hurkacz, and Iga Swiatek are due to be in action on Sunday.
Sunday, from 1pm
Bets 1: Belinda Bencic +5.5 games on handicap v Iga Swiatek @ 10/13
Bet 2: Belinda Bencic to beat Iga Swiatek @ 9/2
Iga Swiatek is the favourite to win Wimbledon this year after capturing three of the last five Grand Slam singles titles, but grass has to go down as the three-time French Open champion’s weakest terrain in her early career.
That could change, of course, but while world number one Swiatek has been crushing many of her opponents in wide-margin victories, that may not be the case in the fourth round of Wimbledon when she takes on Belinda Bencic.
Swiss miss Bencic has yet to ditch her maiden tag in Grand Slam singles competition, but she was the golden girl in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when topping the rostrum in a competition that was delayed until 2021.
Bencic remains a hugely talented performer worthy of much respect and, having won her last meeting with Swiatek in straight sets, it is just possible that she could make it two wins in three clashes with the Pole.
Customers should also not miss the chance to back the outsider with a handicap start of 5.5 games.
Sunday, from 11am
Bet 3: Jannik Sinner -8.5 games on handicap v Daniel Elahi Galan @ 19/20
Jannik Sinner needed four sets to defeat dogged Frenchman Quentin Halys in round three of Wimbledon, but the Italian could enjoy a smoother passage against Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan.
In the first two rounds of this year’s grass-court major, Sinner eased past Argentinians Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Diego Schwartzman in straight sets and the man from the Dolomites should make it three routine triumphs over South American opposition on day seven.
Sinner has made the quarter-finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments but has yet to go past the last eight of a major.
But it may not be long before this steady improver betters his Slam record and that could well be in the coming days.
Sunday, from 11am
Bet 4: Over 40.5 games in Roman Safiullin v Denis Shapovalov @ 5/6
&w=707&quality=100)
Roman Safiullin has threatened to make a name for himself for a couple of seasons and so perhaps it is not surprising that he has found that conditions at Wimbledon suit his game well.
Denis Shapovalov has achieved more than Safiullin in his career to date and is the 5/8 favourite with LiveScore Bet to progress but the outsider’s upset potential is clear in this one and customers would do well to heed the guide.
Safiullin has won his last two matches at the All England Club in straight sets, while only one of Shapovalov’s outings in south-west London this year has been over in double-quick time.
The pair appear well matched and it would not be a surprise, especially with Shapovalov only just returning to form after threatening to end his competitive tennis career, to see this last-16 clash prove a competitive, drawn-out affair.
