It is Kingmaker Chase Day at Warwick in what is one of the highlights of their season. There are seven races on the Virgin Bet sponsored card, including the Grade Two contest.

The action in the Midlands begins at 1.00pm and runs through to 4.25pm. Here are our five horses to follow.

LiveScore Five To Follow at Warwick on Saturday

1.00pm - Virgin Bet Novices' Hurdle (2m5f)

This season has been a much better campaign for EARTH LORD over hurdles. He has been successful on two of his three appearances, including a class three handicap hurdle at Ascot on his penultimate outing (2m5½f).

Phillip Hobbs' runner featured in a Listed race at Kempton (2m5f) last time out. He was a little outclassed in that contest. The gelding is back in much calmer waters again here, so has a great chance of getting back to winning ways.

LiveScore Selection: Earth Lord

1.35pm - Virgin Bet Warwick Mares' Hurdle (2m5f - Listed)

Three-time hurdles winner MARIE'S ROCK has already scored at this level. Her form this season has been mixed, but if she reproduces the same performance as her penultimate outing at Kempton (2m5f), she will prove hard to beat.

Indefatigable is a former winner of this race and is the obvious danger. However, Nicky Henderson's runner will be receiving 6lb from her rivals, and that could make all the difference.

LiveScore Selection: Marie's Rock

2.05pm - Virgin Bet Kingmaker Novices' Chase (2m - Grade Two)

Alan King will hope Edwardstone can hold off his rivals in a competitive race on Saturday
Alan King will hope Edwardstone can hold off his rivals in a competitive race on Saturday

EDWARDSTONE has been at the top end of the betting for the Arkle Trophy ever since he scored in the Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown by 16 lengths. He followed that run up with another demolition of the field in the Wayward Lad Novices' Chase.

Alan King's runner can respond to Blue Lord's success last weekend in the Irish Arkle by enhancing his reputation once again ahead of the Festival. Third Time Lucki will ensure this is not a walk in the park for the Grade One winner, but Dan Skelton's novice will have to settle for second place behind the C&D winner.

LiveScore Selection: Edwardstone

2.40pm - Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle (2m½f)

After a maiden victory at Ffos Las (2m) back in December, FINE CASTING added to his account at Newbury (2m½f) on his handicap debut. He looked a long way ahead of the handicapper in that race.

A 6lb rise in the ratings obviously makes this task more difficult, but he remains open to improvement. It would be no surprise to see this horse complete his hat-trick from top weight in this handicap hurdle.

LiveScore Selection: Fine Casting

3.15pm - Virgin Bet Warwick Castle Handicap Chase (2m4f)

The Virgin Bet Warwick Castle Handicap Chase has an open feel about it. The second highest-rated horse in this race is CHEDDLETON from Jennie Candlish's yard. This chaser has been running consistently well this season without success.

The seven-year-old is stepping up in trip now, and he should appreciate this stiffer test. He has the ability to win a race at this level. If any rain arrives before this contest, his chances will increase further.

LiveScore Selection: Cheddleton
