- Los Angeles Country Club in Beverly Hills to host its first Major championship
- Europeans have won last two US Opens but the previous six were won by Americans

Recommended bets:
- Scottie Scheffler to win and each-way
- Viktor Hovland to win and each-way
- Justin Rose to win and each-way
- Bryson DeChambeau to win and each-way

Los Angeles Country Club will provide the venue for golf’s third Major of 2023 when the cream of the game assemble to battle for the US Open title.

Matt Fitzpatrick will be defending the crown he won at Brookline last year and he is 28/1 with LiveScore Bet to be just the fourth player since the war to win the title in consecutive years.

Scottie Scheffler, who was second at the US PGA Championship last month, is 7/1 favourite with LiveScore Bet with three stars available at 10/1.

One of those is Oak Hill victor Brooks Koepka, who has two US Open crowns to his name, and two European hopefuls, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy.

Scheffler ticks so many boxes

Scottie Scheffler was unable to catch Brooks Koepka at the US PGA Championship last month but there are plenty of reasons to think he is a worthy favourite at LACC at 7/1 with LiveScore Bet.

He stormed to the world number one spot in the opening months of 2022, winning his first Major at Augusta and the Texan has built on that this year by winning the Phoenix Open and Players Championship, two of the most prestigious PGA Tour tournaments.

Scheffler always seems to get in the mix and has finished in the top 12 in each of his last 16 tournaments.

He was tied for second behind Fitzpatrick last year and is one of the few players in the field with experience of this week’s course, having played for the victorious US Walker Cup team in 2011, so there is plenty to like about his chances.

Hovland can lead European charge

European players have had plenty to cheer recently in this event with Rahm and Fitzpatrick winning the last two US Opens, and Norway’s Viktor Hovland could be their best hope of making it a hat-trick.

Hovland posted a disappointing 74 to finish seventh at the Masters in April, but he has not allowed that to get to him as, alongside Scheffler, he gave Koepka the most to think about at the US PGA.

He then came through a playoff with Denny McCarthy to win the Memorial in his last tournament and although he missed the cut at Brookline last year, a Major success cannot be far away and it could come this week at 16/1 with LiveScore Bet.

Rose and DeChambeau can make their presence felt

Two former US Open champions who could also put themselves in the picture are Justin Rose and Bryson DeChambeau.

It is 10 years since Rose claimed his sole Major success to date at Merion, but there have definitely been signs of life over the last 12 months.

He won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and he heads to Los Angeles in good nick, having finished 16th at the Masters and ninth at the US PGA.

Since then, his 12th place at the Charles Schwab Challenge and eighth last week at the Canadian Open have been encouraging and he could prove a strong candidate for glory at 33/1 with LiveScore Bet.

DeChambeau was the last American winner when he claimed the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot with a six-shot victory.

He has been in the doldrums up until the last few months, but he bounced back to life with a fourth-placed finish at the US PGA Championship, which was sandwiched between two top-10s on the breakaway LIV Tour.

The wide fairways at this week’s course should allow him to let rip off the tee and he is an interesting contender at 40/1 with LiveScore Bet.
