Chelsea are considering a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues have reportedly been tracking the 21-year-old for a while and considered an approach before opting to sign Cole Palmer instead last year.

But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mauricio Pochettino is keen to explore the market for more attacking reinforcements and Williams remains high on his wish list.

Chelsea appear stacked when it comes to wingers with Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Palmer all capable of playing wide — but only the latter has consistently delivered this season.

The West Londoners sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table and have lost as many games as they have won in 2023-24.

Williams is enjoying a fine season alongside his brother Inaki.

The 11-cap international has tallied nine goal contributions in 22 LaLiga appearances and helped guide his side to the Copa del Rey final.

His contract in Spain runs until 2027, meaning Chelsea would likely have to fork out a mammoth fee to prise him away from Los Leones but a chance to play in the Premier League may work in the club's favour.
