Serie A Predictions - Week 13
- Atalanta and Fiorentina are both on six-game Serie A winning streaks
- Empoli have only scored one home league goal this season
- Leaders Napoli are seeking to avoid a three-game winless streak
With the final international break of the year finished, focus turns back to the domestic action across Europe, with some huge games to enjoy in the Serie A in particular.
Leaders Napoli take on Roma while AC Milan welcome Juventus in a clash of the titans, with both games previewed below alongside the weekend’s other eight games in the Italian top flight.
Verona vs Inter (Saturday, 2pm)
Inter had won three games in a row to nil before being held to a 1-1 draw by current leaders Napoli, but the champions should have no issues in bouncing back against Verona, who have lost seven of their last nine matches.
Score prediction: 0-2
Milan vs Juventus (Saturday, 5pm)
Juventus have the best defensive record in the Serie A, having shipped just seven goals, but Milan proved their attacking strength when beating Real Madrid 3-1 at the Bernabeu and an exciting draw may play out at the San Siro.
Score prediction: 1-1
Parma vs Atalanta (Saturday, 7.45pm)
Parma have lost just one of their last six matches. However, most of those games have finished level and they are likely to struggle against Atalanta, who have won their last five matches by an aggregate score of 15-1.
Score prediction: 0-2
Genoa vs Cagliari (Sunday 11.30am)
Sunday’s early kick-off will see Cagliari host their relegation rivals Genoa and with both teams tied on 10 points and struggling to score goals, a bore draw could be in the offing.
Score prediction: 0-0
Como vs Fiorentina (Sunday, 2pm)
Promoted Como are winless in six and were thrashed 5-1 by Lazio in their last home match, suggesting they should be swept aside by a Fiorentina side who have won eight of their last nine games.
Score prediction: 1-3
Torino vs Monza (Sunday, 2pm)
Both Torino and Monza have lost each of their last three matches to nil, suggesting goals could be at a premium in Torino this weekend, with the hosts marginally expected to prevail now some key men have returned from injury.
Score prediction: 1-0
Napoli vs Roma (Sunday, 5pm)
Sunday’s standout clash will see Roma managed by their third different boss of the campaign, despite it only being November.
Claudio Ranieri is the latest man in the hotseat, but even he is unlikely to get a tune out of an underperforming side away at Napoli, the team who topped the standings ahead of this matchday.
Score prediction: 2-0
Lazio vs Bologna (Sunday, 7.45pm)
Given Lazio have won 10 of their last 11 games in a run which has seen them net 27 goals, it is difficult to envisage Bologna, who have won only three of their last nine, earning any points in the capital.
Score prediction: 2-1
Empoli vs Udinese (Monday, 5.30pm)
Udinese have lost three on the spin but that they should have enough to snap that streak with a draw at Empoli, who have won just one of their six Serie A home matches this term, a single goal success over promoted Como last time out.
Score prediction: 1-1
Venezia vs Lecce (Monday, 7.45pm)
Both Venezia and Lecce entered the weekend in the bottom three but, given the hosts have won two of their last four home games and the visitors have lost four away matches on the spin, slight preference is for the former.
Score prediction: 1-0
