Ruben Roosken sent off on Huddersfield debut in goalless draw with Rotherham
Ruben Roosken had a nightmare debut for Huddersfield as he was shown a straight red card in a goalless draw with Rotherham.
Huddersfield dominated the first half and Millers keeper Dillon Phillips saved well from Josh Koroma’s low effort from the edge of the box.
Phillips had to be alert to stop Ben Wiles’ inswinging corner from sneaking in at the far post and Michal Helik had a header cleared off the line by Shaun McWilliams from the resulting corner.
Neither side were able to capitalise on getting clean through one-on-one with the goalkeeper in a more end-to-end second half.
Huddersfield keeper Jacob Chapman got enough of a touch on Mallik Wilks’ effort to allow Helik to get back and clear, while Koroma took too long to finish at the other end after being released by Bojan Radulovic.
New signing Roosken was dismissed for a high tackle on Cameron Humphreys just minutes after coming off the bench but Huddersfield still looked the more likely to get a winner before time ran out.
