Robbie Muirhead struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Livingston leapfrogged Ayr into second place in the Scottish Championship following a 2-1 victory at Somerset Park.

With leaders Falkirk having moved five points clear after their 2-0 win at Morton on Friday night, the chasing pair were looking to keep up the pressure.

Danny Wilson broke the deadlock for Livingston in the 33rd minute, rising highest to head home Muirhead’s corner, before substitute Marco Rus levelled for Ayr with 17 minutes left.

But Ayr suffered a first defeat in nine games when Muirhead converted a free-kick in the sixth minute of added time to move Livi four points behind Falkirk.

Bottom-of-the-table Airdrieonians continued their recent revival with a 1-1 draw at fourth-placed Partick Thistle.

Top scorer Brian Graham, back in the line-up after suspension, grabbed his 11th league goal of the season to open the scoring for Thistle in the 17th minute.

But Ben Wilson levelled nine minutes into the second half with his sixth goal in as many games as Airdrieonians, winless away from home, made it eight points from a four-game unbeaten streak.

Dylan Easton scored for the third successive league game to help Raith to a 2-0 home win over Hamilton.

Easton converted a 30th-minute penalty, after James Gullan was fouled by Sean McGinty, to put Raith ahead.

Finlay Pollock, who bagged a brace in last week’s 3-0 home win over Partick, was on target again to double his side’s advantage in the 64th minute.

Dunfermline moved out of the relegation play-off place after a goalless draw at home to Queen’s Park, who ended a run of three successive defeats.
