Premier League press conference highlights: Arteta reveals Partey plans
Stay up to date with all the latest Premier League news with our round-up of the key talking points from today's top-flight press conferences.
Partey planner
Mikel Arteta has revealed that Thomas Partey will return to the squad for Arsenal's match against Sheffield United on Monday.
He said: "Thomas has a session before the last game and now he's done two consecutive sessions and he should be part of the squad on Monday."
Partey has been out of action for four months. Arteta also gave an update on the fitness of another long-term absentee in Jurrien Timber.
He said: "Jurrien is still not close enough. He has been a joy. The medical staff and physios are happy with his attitude and the way things have gone. The way he applies himself.
"He's in a really good place and now we have to manage the last bit of a difficult and complicated injury.
"We have missed his leadership, his versatility to play in different positions, the spaces he can occupy. You could tell he was fitting and he's been a big miss."
Ten Hag defends skipper
Erik ten Hag has defended Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder was criticised on social media by fans of the Red Devils, after he appeared to feign injury in the closing minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Fulham last weekend.
Ten Hag said: "I thought it was definitely, on Saturday, a foul and it was really misjudged from media, from social media to blame him for that.
"Then opponents, they are targeting him and that is not right because then the referee should protect him and there were fouls on him, even after the ball was kicked away."
Ten Hag then responded to news that Fulham released a TikTok video in which they were also critical of Fernandes.
He said: "I would say it is not right. It's absolutely not right that a club makes such statements, because it is totally out of order and they were wrong. So they should apologise for this."
Dyche on points boost
Everton manager Sean Dyche has given his verdict on the Toffees' revised point reduction, which has been cut from 10 points to six.
He said: "I think we're pleased we got something back obviously. You're always greedy aren't you, want more.
"The points the club put forward have obviously been listened to and we got the four points back.
"So we'll take that and now of course it brings clarity to the situation which I think is good for us, good for the players, but I think it's good for all actually.
"Everything that helps to give us a lift of any kind is good news.
"I think performances have stayed solid, we haven't had the wins that we'd want obviously but I think the performance level has been solid."
Wilder mild on fisticuffs
Chris Wilder has spoken about the recent on-pitch confrontation between Sheffield United stars Jack Robinson and Vinicius Souza.
The Blades boss discussed the incident in last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Wolves as he prepares to take on Arsenal.
Wilder said: "I understand it's a massive talking point for media outside Sheffield, but it's not so much of a talking point for myself.
"For me it's not an issue as long as it got put to bed straight away.
"I can sit here and, over my career as a player and manager, say there's been plenty of those situations that happen.
"It's not a good image, I get that, and it was too close for comfort but it's two boys who want to do well. These things happen and we quickly move on."
