Leeds have yet to get going in the Championship this season but it is still early days and some strong late summer investment will mean an immediate return to the Premier League is the minimum expectation for manager Daniel Farke.

The Whites have won only one of their opening five games but three of those outings have ended in draws and they have had to manage with a lengthy injury list.

Farke has also had to deal with his fair share of departures, although he and Leeds supporters will be feeling much happier about matters after their business late in the transfer window.

Leeds have injected their squad with the Premier League quality of Tottenham duo Djed Spence and Joe Rodon, Glenn Kamara from Rangers and Bournemouth’s Jaidon Anthony, as well as bolstering forward options with the goals of Swansea’s Joel Piroe.

So there is every hope that things will soon click for Leeds and they will be eyeing maximum points at Millwall, who are finding goals hard to come by.

The Lions have taken seven points from their first five games but they have scored only four goals, something that may need to improve against this lively Leeds outfit.

Millwall defender Shaun Hutchinson picked up a calf injury against Birmingham, which means Wes Harding could take his place.

George Honeyman remains out for the Lions but Allan Campbell and Ryan Longman will both be hoping to make their full debuts.

For Leeds, captain Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas are confirmed absentees while Patrick Bamford, Daniel James and Junior Firpo are doubts.

The experienced Kamara, who arrived form Rangers, is likely to get the nod ahead of Archie Gray in midfield.

Prediction

Leeds have made an underwhelming start to the Championship campaign but things are expected to improve, starting with victory at Millwall.

While the Lions evidently lack some conviction in the final third — they have scored only four goals in six competitive matches this season — Leeds are blessed with an array of attacking talent.

Piroe and Anthony have been drafted in to compete for places in forward areas with Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto and James, which really should make them a potent threat at this level.

Leeds were 4-3 winners on their last away league trip to Ipswich, a side that have won their other four Championship games, and it shouldn’t be long until they click into gear.

Millwall have already suffered league defeats against Bristol City and Norwich this season, while most recently they were also held to a 1-1 draw at Birmingham, who had edged the shot count 16 to nine.
