Maya Le Tissier revealed she had goosebumps during the Champions League anthem as Manchester United drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain on their European debut.

The visitors took the lead through Tabitha Chawinga but supersub Melvine Malard netted an equaliser to keep the Red Devils on level terms going into the second leg.

There is work to be done in France for Marc Skinner's side but defender Le Tissier still took time to reflect on a historic night for the club.

Speaking to MUTV, she said: "It was my dream to play Champions League football and I got goosebumps hearing the anthem.

"We went into the game with a plan and we executed it better in the second half.

"We came away with a 1-1 and we can be pleased with that. It's all to play for in Paris.

"PSG have got fantastic players and they play for that club for a reason. We just had to deal with that and were really together as a defensive unit.

"Every single player in this team can come in and make a difference. That's really special to have."

Katie Zelem lined up in midfield for the clash in Manchester and used her experience to restrict and contain the French giants, who will be hoping to put the game to bed on home soil.

The academy product admitted United have previously lacked the depth to compete with Europe's best but believes they now have the tools to progress in the Champions League.

She said: "It was the first time for some of the girls in the Champions League and you could see in the first half it was a bit nervy.

"So 1-1 to take into the second leg I think is a great result for us.

"In previous years, we've maybe not had the depth in the squad that we would have liked.

"But this season, every single person is capable of starting no matter what game it is.

"We really believe in each other and you see that every single day in training. So whatever team is selected, we fully back each other."
