Draw

Luton seem to be suffering from a relegation hangover and they will be targeting their first victory since April when taking on QPR at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters have taken just one point from three Championship fixtures and they exited the Carabao Cup on Tuesday after a 1-1 draw and a penalty shootout loss away to QPR.

Just three days later the teams are required to tackle each other in Bedfordshire and the fixture presents another tricky challenge for QPR, who secured a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United on their last road trip.

Team news

Luton made five changes for their midweek League Cup clash at Loftus Road which included a first start since December for injury-hit midfielder Marvelous Nakamba.

They will revert to their first choice line-up, although right back Daiki Hashioka (leg) and forward Jacob Brown (knee) remain unavailable.

QPR head coach Marti Cifuentes made seven midweek changes which included a recall for midfielder Jack Colback, who had completed a one-match ban.

Cifuentes is unable to call on attacking midfielder Ilias Chair (back) and winger Lucas Anderson (groin).

Luton have drawn two of their last three matches and have gone 10 games without a victory.

The Hatters have kept just one clean sheet in their last 22 fixtures.

Each of Luton’s last three games have featured less than three goals.

QPR have drawn their last three fixtures.

Both teams have scored in each of QPR’s last six matches.

Prediction

Luton’s poor start to the season continued with a penalty shootout loss away to QPR in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday and they could be held to a draw by the same opponents at Kenilworth Road just three days later.

There has been a lack of ruthlessness about the Hatters, who have had 36 goal attempts in three Championship fixtures and scored just one goal.

And poor finishing was the root cause of their midweek disappointment with two Luton players fluffing their lines from the penalty spot.

QPR are second on the second tier’s shot count with 55 although 30 of those came in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Plymouth, who were reduced to 10 men by Adam Forshaw’s 29th-minute red card.

The Londoners have picked up just two points from three games although one of those was a commendable 2-2 draw at Sheffield United where they came from two goals behind.

Cifuentes’s side have showed that they can compete against the relegated clubs and they can pick up a point in Bedfordshire.
