Camila Saez scored an own goal deep into stoppage time as Tottenham snatched a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over rivals West Ham.

West Ham remain rooted to the bottom of the WSL but were in position to grab their first win of the campaign when Riko Ueki gave them a half-time lead.

Tottenham were on course for a fourth straight league defeat until Bethany England levelled after the break and Saez’s own goal late in the piece secured a return to winning ways for Robert Vilahamn’s team.

Tottenham thought they had opened the scoring on the half-hour mark after England found the back of the net but celebrations were cut short by the assistant referee’s flag after Ella Morris was found to be offside in the build up.

Seven minutes later, it was the visitors that struck after Ueki jumped highest from Viviane Asseyi’s teasing corner to make it 1-0.

Spurs failed to register a shot on target in the first period but it only took six minutes of the second half for them to finally register one and it resulted in a goal.

Martha Thomas’ initial strike was parried by Kinga Szemik into the path of Matilda Vinberg, who then saw her strike smash off the post and England was ready and waiting to tap home from close range at the third attempt.

Spurs made all the running in search of a winner and got it in injury time.

Luana Buhler’s seemingly harmless long ball over the top caused confusion between Saez and Lenna Gunning-Williams but the former got there first and hooked it into the back of her own net to hand Spurs the points.
