Kyra Cooney-Cross praised Arsenal's ability to win in different ways after they churned out a 3-0 victory at Brighton in the Women's Super League.

A Stina Blackstenius goal had the Gunners in front at half-time but it was not until the second period that they truly clicked, scoring twice in the final 20 minutes to seal the victory.

And while the Australian midfielder knows they will need to improve, she was proud of her side's ability to at least keep things tight.

Cooney-Cross said: "This is our first clean sheet so we're really happy with that.

"The first half wasn't so great, it was very transitional. In the second half we kept the ball so much better and we stayed loyal to our game plan.

"In the end we got three points."

This was the 21-year-old's third straight start as she eases into life in North London after signing from Hammarby IF in the summer.

And the 38-cap international is excited to keep developing in a side full of star names.

She said: "I'm so happy to be playing.

"Look at the team I'm playing in, we've got some amazing players.

"I'm training with Leah Walton, Beth Mead, Viv Miedema, Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord. It doesn't get much better than that."

The victory ensured that Arsenal stay second in the WSL table, three points behind pace-setters Chelsea.

They take on Southampton in the FA WSL Cup on Thursday before hosting West Ham at Meadow Park next Sunday.

A crunch match against the Blues follows on Sunday, December 10.
