Day Two of Kempton's Christmas Festival holds our focus on Monday, with the Desert Orchid Chase one of the highlights

It's the second and final day of the Christmas Festival at Kempton. The Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Chase and Ladbrokes Wayward Lad Novices' Chase are the feature races on the card at the Surrey venue.

The official going is described as 'Good To Soft', 'Soft' in places.

Here are our five horses to follow.

12.45pm - Ladbrokes We Play Together Introductory Juvenile Hurdle (2m)

Paul Nicholls has an excellent record with his recruits from France and ICEO may be the next in line to have a great career for the Ditcheat team.

This three-year-old gelding prevailed by just over five lengths on his sole start over hurdles at Dieppe, and this will be the juvenile's first run since arriving in the UK.

He will need to carry a penalty, but more can be expected from him on what may a stepping-stone towards higher class action later in the campaign.

1.20pm - Ladbrokes Wayward Lad Novices' Chase (2m - Grade 2)

EDWARDSTONE has bounced back from being brought down on his opening start of the season to record consecutive victories.

He proved his class at the highest level when he prevailed in the Grade One Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown on his latest appearance.

Alan King's runner is dropping down in grade now and based on the form they have shown over fences, his three rivals will have to take a huge step forward to finish ahead of the Grade One winner.

1.55pm - Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Mares' Handicap Hurdle (3m½f)

GO MILLIE GO was five lengths behind Tequilla Blaze when they met last time out Ascot (2m7½f). The former is now 7lb better off with her rival though, so she has a great chance of reversing the form.

Stuart Edmunds' mare started the season over fences, but her connections opted to return to hurdles after she unseated her rider, and the two-time hurdles winner showed some good form over sticks last season.

Expect to see her bounce back on her third start of the campaign.

2.30pm - Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Chase (2m - Grade 2)

Shishkin is looking to make it six wins out of six over fences
Shishkin is looking to make it six wins out of six over fences

With five wins from as many outings, SHISHKIN has been faultless over fences so far. Nicky Henderson's runner prevailed at this meeting 12 months ago in the Wayward Novices' Chase. He then went on to demolish the field in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Seven Barrows runner had wind surgery in the summer.

He will be tested on this first start of the season as Greaneteen comes into the race on the back of victory in the Grade One Tingle Creek.

Nicky Henderson would not run his superstar chaser if he was not ready, so fitness must be taken on trust. The seven-year-old can maintain his 100% record.

3.10pm - Play Ladbrokes 1-2-Free On Football Handicap Chase (3m)

Five-time chase winner CAP DU NORD had a solid campaign last season. He has failed to replicate that in two starts since his return to action but expect to see him step on what he has shown on this latest assignment.

Christian Williams' gelding is down to a mark which gives him a good chance again. He also benefits from the capable Ellis Collier taking 7lb off his back.

LiveScore selection: Cap Du Nord
