Jakirovic reveals he will be signing a new contract with Hull City
Hull City boss, Sergej Jakirovic, revealed that he will be signing a new deal with the club very soon.
Jakirovic’s current deal expires in 2027, although Hull do have an option to extend it for another year.
Reports had suggested that the Croatian had already signed a three-year contract last month, but Jakirovic says it is still not done.
“Very soon. I will sign very soon, not yet,” he said.
“It was an easy decision, since day one, it’s [an] easy decision.”
This summer Hull City brought in 18 new players to the squad. Jakirovic was asked whether he will have a difficult time deciding who to leave out this season.
“No, for me this is excellent because we have good competition,” he answered. “We have in every position, at least two players.
“You know how difficult a season is, we [have] already lost some players because of injuries so we will try always to put the best 11, but no matter who will start in the game it is very important for me who will finish the game… so that we have options there, we can change our shape also, system, also they can bring quality for every head coach it’s a good situation.”
