History beckons
Luka Modric is relishing Real Madrid's push for European glory as they chase a sixth Champions League trophy in 10 years.
Holders Real head to Manchester City tonight with their semi-final finely poised at 1-1.
And Modric, a five-time winner of European football's elite competition, has been remembering what former coach Zinedine Zidane told the team before their 2018 final triumph against Liverpool.
The playmaker, 37, said: "I still remember the video before Kyiv, with Zizou talking about creating a dynasty. It gives you an extra motivation.
"Knowing you are close to touching another final, you want to give everything. It can give you a bit extra at moments in the game.
"We are close to doing something historic."
Future concern

Eddie Howe hopes his brush with danger can help avoid a "tragedy" on a football pitch.
The Newcastle boss, 45, was confronted in his technical area by a fan — who has since been banned from Elland Road for life and charged with assault — during last Saturday's 2-2 Premier League draw at Leeds.
Asked about the incident ahead of Thursday night's clash with Brighton, he said: "The concern for me is the future.
"I just hope that incident can help the authorities and whoever is concerned with the security and safety of the players and staff.
"If it does make a little change or someone to think how we can improve things, it will have been a really worthwhile episode because I'd hate to see a tragedy on a football pitch that could have been avoided."
Bring it on
Carlo Cudicini cannot wait to see who Inter Milan will lock horns with in the Champions League final.
The former Chelsea and Tottenham keeper reached the final with AC Milan in 1993, when the Italian giants lost 1-0 to Marseille.
And he is relishing the prospect of Inter taking on Manchester City or reigning champions Real Madrid next month.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, 49-year-old Cudicini said: "Inter have got everything in terms of players and they can put any team in difficult positions.
"Now they're going to face either City or Real, which is going to be an unbelievable final.
"There are top players in the Inter side, which is why it was a bit disappointing in terms of where they were in the [Serie A] table and only recently have they managed to climb a few spots [up to third].
"For me, reaching the Champions League final at 19 was a dream come true. It was an unbelievable moment."
Take nothing for granted

Guro Reiten admits Chelsea cannot afford to rest on their laurels when they head to West Ham tonight.
After winning the FA Cup last Sunday, the Blues are on a high on as they bid to retain the Women's Super League title.
But Reiten, 28, and her team-mates know their London rivals will be desperate to throw a spanner in the works against the Blues, who are looking for three points from their game in hand to leapfrog Manchester United at the top of the table.
She said: "We don't have time to celebrate. We want to lift trophies and want to enjoy the moment but you barely have time to because we have to refocus again.
"We know how important every single game is going to be for the rest of the season and we want to lift another trophy.
"It's a tough one but we are a very professional group of players and staff and we're ready to go again."
