Atleti Jav a new signing
Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of left-back Javi Galan from Celta Vigo.
The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Diego Simeone's side.
Galan has been among LaLiga's best defenders in recent campaigns, particularly from an offensive standpoint.
Last season in the Spanish top flight, the former Huesca star assisted three goals and ranked seventh for take-ons completed.
Galan is yet to earn a senior cap for Spain but his move to the Wanda Metropolitano could change his fortunes on the international stage.
Pat on the back
Patrick Vieira has been named the new manager of Strasbourg.
The 47-year-old was officially appointed by the Ligue 1 outfit on Sunday, less than two weeks after the French club were taken over by Todd Boehly's BlueCo consortium.
Former Arsenal midfielder Vieira has been out of work since he was relieved of his duties by Premier League side Crystal Palace last March.
On his new job, he said: "I am particularly happy to join.
"I know the history and the identity of this club, the fervour it arouses, the importance it has for its region, which is a place of football and passion.
"The rebuilding of the club in recent years, under the direction of Marc Keller [Strasbourg president], is an example to be admired.
"Working with him is a real pleasure for me. A new cycle begins and it is exciting as a coach to be able to build something while relying on the values that have defined the strength of the club."
Strasbourg finished 15th in Ligue 1 last season, just five points above the relegation zone.

England have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The squad numbers are as follows:
1 Mary Earps, 2 Lucy Bronze, 3 Niamh Charles, 4 Keira Walsh, 5 Alex Greenwood, 6 Millie Bright, 7 Lauren James, 8 Georgia Stanway, 9 Rachel Daly, 10 Ella Toone, 11 Lauren Hemp, 12 Jordan Nobbs, 13 Hannah Hampton, 14 Lotte Wubben-Moy, 15 Esme Morgan, 16 Jess Carter, 17 Laura Coombs, 18 Chloe Kelly, 19 Bethany England, 20 Katie Zelem, 21 Ellie Roebuck, 22 Katie Robinson, 23 Alessia Russo.
Mykhailo's message
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has urged the Blues to make a move for his compatriot Georgiy Sudakov.
The pair starred for Ukraine's Under-21s side on Sunday evening as they beat France 3-1 to reach the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championship.
Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki gave Les Bleuets an early advantage, before a brace from Sudakov — the second goal brilliantly assisted by Mudryk — put Ukraine in the lead.
Artem Bondarenko then struck late on to seal the victory and a date with Spain in the final four.
After the game, Mudryk was asked whether he would like Chelsea to move for Sudakov, to which he replied: "That would be great."
On his assist for the 20-year-old Shakhtar Donestk midfielder, he added: "Usually it’s the opposite — he gives it to me and I score. And now he scored a penalty, and I thought — I need to score more.
"I do everything for my friend, I hope he just keeps scoring. I'm just promoting him!"
Lenglet return
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hinted that Clement Lenglet could return to Tottenham this summer and work under new manager Ange Postecoglu.
The French centre-back spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Spurs, where he made 35 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal.
On a potential deal with the Premier League side, Laporta said: "I think we will reach an agreement with Tottenham for Lenglet."
The 61-year-old Spaniard also touched on the futures of Sergino Dest and Franck Kessie.
He said: "There is also Dest [to leave]. These things almost never happened quickly. It depends on other parties. If it was just us, they are cases we would already have resolved yesterday."
On reports of Kessie being linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia, the Barca president added: "We are not aware of a formal offer [from Saudi]. If he [Kessie] wants to go, we will respect that, but he can be a useful player for Barca."
