Sunderland will take on Newcastle in the FA Cup third round in an exciting draw that also sees Arsenal pitted against Liverpool.

The Tyne-Wear derby will be the first since a 1-1 draw between the teams in March 2016 and the first at the Stadium of Light since October 2015.

Meanwhile, one Premier League title hopeful will be knocked out in the early stages when Jurgen Klopp's Reds visit the Emirates.

Other stand-out ties see Manchester United travel a short distance to Wigan, who won the competition in 2013, while defending champions Manchester City and Chelsea have both been handed home ties against Championship opposition.

Non-league Maidstone will host Stevenage or Port Vale and a number of other clubs from below the EFL could join them in the third round.

Other all-Premier League ties include Tottenham vs Burnley, Crystal Palace vs Everton and Brentford vs Wolves.

All ties will be played across the weekend commencing Friday, January 5.
