Chelsea boss Emma Hayes is anticipating an "aggressive" Tottenham as they prepare for their Women's Super League opener tomorrow.
The Blues kick-start the defence of their title with the visit of Spurs, who have had a change of manager over the off-season.
Robert Vilahamn is taking charge of his first competitive game since joining from Swedish side Hacken.
Spurs finished ninth in the WSL last season but Hayes is aware of Vilahamn's recent successes and expects a much different Tottenham side to show up at Stamford Bridge.
She said: "I'm aware of the way his teams play but they've only played a few games and mainly behind closed doors, so we have limited information.
"They will be aggressive, compact and difficult to break down. They haven't conceded many goals during the pre-season period."
Hayes announced in an emotional social-media post on Monday that her dad Sid had died, but her focus is on trying to claim a fifth consecutive WSL title
She said: "It's been a difficult time, it's been a really challenging summer for me.
"But if I didn't come to work, I can hear my dad and he would be saying, 'Get your backside to work — you've got a game to prepare and a title to defend'.
"It's important we get on with life. I'm very, very happy to come back and see the players and the staff.
"My passion doesn't die. It evolves and there are different expectations I'll place on the team in terms of I want to be more than just winning."
