Dan Adu-Adjei’s stoppage-time equaliser earned Carlisle a 1-1 draw against Bromley at Hayes Lane.

The 19-year-old, on loan from Bournemouth, cancelled out Michael Cheek’s opener for the home side, who also had Lewis Leigh sent off.

A competitive first half took a long time to produce serious goalmouth action but the best of them saw Carlisle goalkeeper Gabe Breeze tip Omar Sowunmi’s goalbound header over the crossbar.

At the other end, Dom Sadi did well to work some space but his drilled effort was well saved by Grant Smith.

Bromley opened the scoring nine minutes into the second half through the ever-reliable Cheek.

Danny Imray’s enterprising run was impeded in the penalty area and Cheek smashed home the resultant penalty for his eighth league goal of the season.

That did not deter the Cumbrians and Adu-Adjei’s jinking run saw him shoot narrowly over as the visitors pressed for an equaliser.

With seven minutes of normal time remaining, second-half substitute Leigh was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge.

That was to prove a critical lifeline for the away side and they duly equalised in the second minute of time added on.

A long throw bounced in the penalty area and Adu-Adjei was able to spin and shoot home beyond Smith.
