Coventry vs Norwich predictions: Sky Blues can aim high against sickly Canaries

&w=707&quality=100)
- Coventry remain unbeaten at home and have won their last two Championship outings
- Norwich have lost four of their last six league matches
- Recommended bet: Coventry to win
Coventry and Norwich were among those talked about for Championship promotion this summer, but both have struggled to match pre-season expectations.
The Canaries sit seventh, but the fact that they have failed to capitalise on a fast start despite being handed a relatively kind early fixture list must be a concern.
Coventry sit in mid-table but have already ticked off a few tricky matches.
However, while supporters will not feel they have too much to worry about having lost only twice – and both by a single goal away from home – the Sky Blues' habit of drawing too many draws is holding them back.
Those single points need to be turned into three if Coventry are to ignite their promotion push – and victory over a top-six rival would be a good place to start.
Team news
Coventry captain Liam Kelly had to come off with a hamstring injury in midweek and he joins fellow midfielders Kasey Palmer and Ben Sheaf (both groin) on the sidelines.
Right-back Milan van Ewijk is expected to return from a muscle injury after the international break as are long-term absentees Fabio Tavares and Callum O'Hare, who are closing in on returns from Achilles and ACL injuries respectively.
Norwich are without strikers Ashley Barnes and Josh Sargent until the end of the month.
Midfielders Marcelino Nunez (ankle) and Jakob Sorensen (groin) expect to be back shortly after the international break but centre-back Grant Hanley will have to wait a little longer as he recovers from an Achilles injury.

The stats
Coventry sit 13th in the Championship and while none of their performances offer cause for concern, a record of five draws and only three wins from ten games is hindering their progress.
The Sky Blues remain unbeaten in five home matches, beating Middlesbrough 3-0 and Blackburn 1-0 while drawing against Watford, Huddersfield and fourth-placed Sunderland.
Norwich's fast start – three wins and a draw in four – has slowed dramatically, with the Canaries losing four of their last six Championship matches.
That run includes defeats in each of their last three away games, with a 2-1 loss at struggling Rotherham as concerning as their 6-2 thumping at promoted Plymouth.
Prediction
While Coventry currently lag behind Norwich in the Championship standings, the Canaries' recent away-day struggles make the Sky Blues an attractive proposition on home soil.
Manager Mark Robins will be frustrated to have only 14 points from ten games because his Coventry side have been a touch unfortunate in both defeats – away at Leicester and Cardiff – and arguably should have taken three points rather than one against each of Huddersfield, Watford and Sunderland.
Their six-match winless sequence never looked like it would last given the level of the Sky Blues' play and back-to-back victories over QPR and Blackburn will have supporters hoping they can go on a run that puts them back in the promotion picture.
Norwich seem likely to head the other way. A strong start has given way to some sloppy performances and manager David Wagner has work to do if he is to arrest a run of four defeats in six.
