Washington heads to the capital as Chelsea land young forward
Chelsea have completed the signing of Deivid Washington from Santos.
The Brazilian forward is the Blues' latest recruit on a long-term contract, penning a seven-year deal with the option for an eighth.
Teenage talent Washington, 18, follows Angelo Gabriel in switching to the West Londoners from the Brazilian club this summer.
Upon signing, Washington said: "I'm very happy to be joining a huge team like Chelsea.
"I can't wait to make my debut here at such a big club with loads of goals and assists."
Washington's addition is the latest in an obvious effort from Stamford Bridge chiefs to invest in young prospects.
Diego Moreira and Lesley Ugochukwu, both 19, have arrived from Benfica and Rennes respectively but are unlikely to play much first-team football in the immediate future.
Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia have also all joined Chelsea this summer aged 25 or under.
But boss Mauricio Pochettino warned that the club's business may not be complete yet.
He said: "We are looking for the right profile. That is the most important thing and we are trying.
"The window is still open and the club are working. We will inform when something happens."
One forward still contracted to the club is Romelu Lukaku, who has not secured a move away despite talks with several interested parties.
Lukaku was on loan at Inter Milan last season and is seemingly not in Pochettino's plans.
On the Belgium striker's future, Poch said: "The situation hasn't changed. In football all can happen, we will see in the future but for now nothing has changed.
"The situation was clear when we arrived, a wish between the club and player to find a solution. At the moment, we are relaxed."
Pochettino's side have taken just one point from their first two matches of the season, drawing 1-1 with Liverpool and losing 3-1 at West Ham last Sunday.
They host Luton on Friday night in a game they are expected to win to get their season started.
