Burton boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation from League One with a 2-0 win at bottom-of-the-table Shrewsbury.
Rumarn Burrell and Terence Vancooten netted inside the final 18 minutes to leave the Brewers six points behind Bristol Rovers in 20th, with the Shrews a further eight points adrift.
The hosts created an opening on the half-hour when they worked the ball well to Dom Gape on the edge of the box but his powerful shot went behind for a corner.
Burton went close before half-time when Kyran Lofthouse stood up a cross to Burrell but his effort flew over the bar.
Burrell played a low-driven cross to Mason Bennett minutes later but he smashed his chance over.
Just after the break, the ball broke to Shrewsbury’s Jordan Shipley just outside the area and tried his luck but his shot sailed over.
Bennett got on the end of another cross into the box on the hour mark but blasted his effort off target.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock with 18 minutes remaining when Burrell rose highest at the front post from a corner and headed in.
Burton sealed the points four minutes from time through Vancooten after he poked in from close range from a corner.
