Stat Attack: All you need to know about Brighton 3-1 West Ham
Brighton came from behind to beat West Ham 3-1 at the Amex Stadium — sealing a top-half finish and denying the Hammers a spot in next season's Europa League.
The Irons took the lead in the 40th minute when Michail Antonio fired home a sensational strike from the edge of the box.
But the hosts drew level five minutes into the second half, as Joel Veltman converted Solly March's pull-back.
The Seagulls then took the lead in the 80th minute, through a superb Pascal Gross effort into the top corner.
And Graham Potter's side extended their advantage in stoppage time, when Danny Welbeck's powerful header sealed all three points in the 92nd minute.
Brighton's boss was delighted at full-time, having secured a commendable ninth-place finish.
He said: "I'm incredibly proud, it's been a fantastic group to work with, everybody behind the scenes. It's amazing for us to finish where we have.
"It hasn't been straightforward, ups and downs, but we stuck together and we can be really proud of what we've done.
"To score three goals coming back from a goal down is brilliant. It sums up their character and spirit."
West Ham, meanwhile, have qualified for next season's Europa Conference League — but manager David Moyes was critical of his side's display.
He said: "We didn't play well, especially in the second half, but the players have done really well this year.
"You want the players to be tougher than that, we've had a lot of resilience through the year and we didn't show that in the second half when we were 1-0 up.
"We had a great chance of winning today and put ourselves in a great chance of winning but, unlike us, we didn't fulfil that and follow it through."
