Wolves ran out 1-0 winners against Brighton thanks to Romain Saiss’ goal on the stroke of half-time.
After an opening 45 devoid of clear-cut opportunities, the visitors made the breakthrough in first-half stoppage time.
A corner from Bruno Lage’s men was hacked clear by Yves Bissouma but only as far as Ruben Neves.
The Portuguese midfielder lofted a perfect ball across for Saiss, who timed his run and finished with aplomb on the volley.
The Seagulls almost levelled immediately after conceding but Enock Mwepu shot over the bar from just a few yards out.
Saiss had chances to add to both his and Wolves’ tally after the break, but struck the crossbar and later the post before Mwepu again fired over at the other end.
At full-time, the goalscorer praised Neves for supplying the vital cross.
He said: "I've known Ruben [Neves] very well for a lot of years and it was a fantastic pass but I deserve credit for the finish with my right foot — I never use my right foot.
"It was important to score before the end of the first half and we tried to play from the back but in the first half we didn't create a lot of chances.
"It was an important win and we're happy with the performance. Brighton is a good team so let's recover for the next game.
"I'm always happy to score goals and I was close to scoring a second well and that's something I'm trying to improve.
"Every season I get a lot of chances so I'm happy to score."

Graham Potter’s side are without a win in any competition since September when they beat Swansea in the League Cup, whilst their now 11-game winless run in the Premier League (D8 L3) is their longest wait for a top-flight victory in the club’s history.
Wolves have recorded back-to-back league wins over Brighton for the very first time, with this the 35th different encounter between the two sides.
Saiss’ opener was Wolves’ first goal in the first half in seven matches — indeed, no side has netted fewer goals before the half-time interval than both Brighton and Wanderers in the Premier League this season (five each, same as Everton and Norwich).
Wolves have ended their three-game losing run in the Premier League in matches without Raul Jimenez with this their first since May, which also came against the Seagulls.
Since the beginning of last season, only Neves (six) and Jimenez (seven) have scored more league goals for Wolves than Saiss (five).
