Brian Sorensen wants to see Everton battle for a result

Brian Sorensen admits it is "going to take everything" for Everton to earn a result against West Ham in the Women's Super League on Sunday.

The Toffees and the Hammers are both tied on 11 points in the table, five points clear of bottom side Bristol City, and 43-year-old Sorensen has stressed how important it is for his injury-hit side to add to their tally at Walton Hall Park.

He said: "We put a lot of pressure on ourselves. We want to go out and perform, which the girls have been doing, we just haven't had the results.

"It's vital we get a result but it's also going to be a really tough game with all the players we have out.

"We are very light at the moment and West Ham have brought in really good, quality players.

"The game we won 1-0 away [in December] was an even game. It's going to take everything from us in terms of getting a result."

Although West Ham are also lingering around the relegation zone, a recent upturn in form has seen them earn back-to-back victories in their last two league outings.

The Hammers beat fellow strugglers Bristol City 2-1 before coming from behind to earn a huge 2-1 win against title contenders Arsenal.

And boss Rehanne Skinner is hoping her side can become consistent with their performances in the remaining fixtures.

She said: "At the end of the day, it's very close in the bottom half of the table.

"We want to focus on doing what we have been doing for the last couple of games, which is the way we approach it, the way we want to play and ensure we become consistent.

"I've said all season that when you start to get consistency, you will get the benefits of the results and performances.

"It's all about trusting the process. Although that can be hard sometimes, everyone in here knows what they are doing and the direction of travel."
