Bradford come from behind against Chesterfield to make it back-to-back wins
Bradford came from behind to beat Chesterfield 2-1 and make it back-to-back wins over the holiday period.
Chesterfield made their first visit to Valley Parade in seven years with a host of injuries but Paul Cook’s side had the better chances in the first half.
Liam Mandeville should have scored in the 10th minute when he cut through the Bradford defence. But he shot past the post under pressure from Neill Byrne.
Armando Dobra put the visitors in front 10 minutes before half-time. His first shot was blocked by Brad Halliday but the home defence could not clear and Dobra drove his second effort past Sam Walker.
The Bradford goalkeeper then denied Dobra a second before the hosts levelled against the run of play, Alex Pattison crossing low for Bobby Pointon to backheel past Max Thompson.
Chesterfield nearly went back in front but Mandeville’s header hit the inside of a post.
But Bradford came out determined for the second half and got their reward when Antoni Sarcevic pounced on an error from Jamie Grimes to round Thompson and score.
