- Bournemouth have lost four Premier League matches on the spin
- Burnley have won five of the last six meetings between the two sides
- Recommended bet: Burnley win

Two of the Premier League's bottom three will meet at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, with both Bournemouth and Burnley in need of a victory to help kickstart their respective seasons.

Bournemouth are yet to win in the top-flight this campaign and will head into the contest sitting 19th in the standings, having lost four league fixtures on the bounce.

Burnley sit just a point and place above the Cherries, but they have won on the road this season and also have a strong recent record when facing Saturday's hosts.

Team news

Bournemouth will be without the suspended Lewis Cook following his sending-off in last week's home defeat to Wolves, while fellow midfielder Tyler Adams faces up to four months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his injured hamstring.

Ryan Fredericks (calf) and Emiliano Marcondes (ankle) are also expected to remain on the treatment table, while Chris Mepham is still a doubt with an unspecified issue.

Burnley have been boosted ahead of Saturday's match by the news leading scorer Lyle Foster has signed a new contract and he will expect to lead the line once again against the Cherries.

Michael Obafemi remains unavailable with a long-term hamstring issue, but Jordan Beyer (unspecified), Hjalmar Ekdal (knee), Manuel Benson (ankle) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (calf) could all return for the trip to the South Coast.

The stats

Bournemouth are without a win in the Premier League this season, picking up just three points from their nine matches to date.

The Cherries also lost their final four league games of last season, with their last top-flight victory coming against Leeds in April.

All four of Burnley's points this season have been picked up away from home, while they have also registered road victories in the EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest and Salford.

The Clarets have a good recent record against Bournemouth, winning five of the last six meetings, most recently claiming a 4-2 victory at the Vitality Stadium when the two teams met in last season's FA Cup.

That is one of four consecutive away victories Burnley have enjoyed against Bournemouth, with the three other successes coming in the Premier League.

Prediction

The pressure is beginning to mount on Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, who is yet to win a league fixture since taking over from Gary O'Neil in the summer.

Defeats over recent week's to O'Neil's new side Wolves and Everton have not helped matters and it is hard to see where the next victory is going to come from for a Cherries side bereft of confidence.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany perhaps has a bit more breathing room after leading his side to the Championship title last term, and the Clarets have shown they can compete in the division, particularly on the road where they have picked up all four of their points to date.

With recent history also on their side in this fixture, Burnley should have just about enough to get over the line, but this is likely to be a nervy contest between two out-of-form sides.
