Anouk Denton is confident West Ham are on the right track under new boss Rehanne Skinner.

The Hammers have only picked up three points from three Women's Super League games so far this term but their two defeats came at the hands of title contenders Manchester City and champions Chelsea.

And Denton, 20, believes it is only a matter of time before Skinner's methods pay off on a regular basis on the pitch.

Speaking to West Ham's official website, she said: "Everyone is working really hard for one another.

"I feel as though we're improving our understanding as a team game on game and we're really starting to see the benefits of the work we've done since Rehanne has arrived.

"There's a real family feel about the group. If we continue to improve and work on things, I think we'll pick up plenty of positive results as the season progresses."

Denton played 90 minutes at Kingsmeadow as the Hammers slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Emma Hayes' Chelsea last Saturday.

And while she was disappointed to leave empty-handed, the England youth international saw plenty of positives.

Denton added: "I think the team performance was better than we showed against City, for example.

"I thought we played in a really positive way and there were lots of good things about our play.

"We found ways to get in behind and to create chances, which has been something we've struggled with in the past against Chelsea and the bigger teams in this league.

"If we can be a little more clinical moving forward, I think we're in a really good place."

Denton and her team-mates will hope home advantage makes the difference when Liverpool visit the Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday.
