Transfer Talk: Liverpool exploring deal for Leipzig ace Szoboszlai
Liverpool are exploring a move to sign RB Leipzig playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Reds are keen to further boost their squad with another one of European football's hottest prospects after completing a deal for Alexis Mac Allister earlier this month.
Szoboszlai, 22, has three years remaining on his current deal at the Red Bull Arena and the Merseyside outfit have reportedly already met with the Hungary ace's representatives.
But David Ornstein of The Athletic claims that while Liverpool are interested, they are aware that a deal will be very difficult to get over the line.
Szoboszlai has a release clause in his contract worth around £60million but there are conflicting reports about its expiry date.
The 32-cap international enjoyed a stellar 2022-23 campaign at Leipzig, bagging seven goals and recording 10 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp's side also retain interest in Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, says Fabrizio Romano, but Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are in the race for the Spaniard's signature too.
