Dele Alli has been given the green light to leave Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The Spurs midfielder’s career has stagnated after losing his place under Jose Mourinho and he is desperate for a new start elsewhere.

Chairman Daniel Levy had been reluctant to sell the 25-year-old previously but he is not part of new boss Antonio Conte’s plans.

And rather than have an unhappy player on their hands, Spurs would rather cut ties with the former MK Dons man.

The Telegraph say Levy wants to cash in on Alli now but would consider a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

The player believes a move elsewhere could reignite his career in the same way Jesse Lingard did at West Ham in the second half of last season.

Lingard regained his England place before heading back to Manchester United rather than making a permanent move to the London Stadium.

It is over two years since Alli last played for England in the Nations League third-place play-off game against Switzerland, while his five Premier League starts this term were all under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Real at front of Rudiger queue

Real Madrid have reportedly moved to the front of the queue for Antonio Rudiger

Real Madrid have put themselves in pole position to sign out-of-contract Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger at the end of the season.

The Guardian say talks between the Spanish giants and the German’s agent have progressed well.

But the Blues are still keen to keep the centre-back and there has been no breakdown in the relationship between player and club.

Rudiger is currently earning £90,000 per week and wants to nearly double that wage, whereas Chelsea have offered him a new deal worth £140k.

The 28-year-old has been one of the Blues’ standout players and believes he deserves to be among the top earners.

Thomas Tuchel is desperate to keep Rudiger at Stamford Bridge with interest in the influential Germany star from most of Europe’s big clubs.

Marca say Barcelona, Juventus and Corinthians are all keen on signing Edinson Cavani, who looks set to leave United.

Lille centre-back Sven Botman is Newcastle’s No1 January target, with the Guardian also reporting that they are keen on Lingard.
