Leeds secured a point in front of a packed Elland Road in what was an enthralling encounter against Everton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the Toffees the lead from the penalty spot 30 minutes in, after a VAR review showed that the striker had been fouled by Liam Cooper.

But they were pegged back shortly before the break when Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich combined before the latter dinked the ball over Jordan Pickford.

The visitors’ lead was restored soon after the restart when Demarai Gray got his first goal in Everton colours, firing low past Illan Meslier.

But yet again they were unable to hold on to the advantage as Raphinha’s stinging shot meant the spoils tied the game once more.

Late chances for both Moise Kean and Michael Keane came and went and the points were shared.

At one stage, Gray had thought he had netter the winner and revealed his disappointment after ultimately settling for a draw.

He said: "Against a team like Leeds you have to kill the game off, they’re always going to apply the pressure and with the fans here, they’re not going to give up.

"We could have taken more today but we’ll take the point.

"I went flying after the goal, I’m delighted to get off the mark and score in front of the away fans.

"I feel I’ve integrated into the team and the system and I’m working well with the manager, my focus is to keep being a threat and hopefully put more goals in."

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again — Raphinha finally got his reward after plenty of efforts on goal

Klich scored his fifth Premier League goal this afternoon, which is as many as all other Polish players in the competition combined.

Gray's first Everton strike means he becomes the 34th different player to score both for and against the Toffees.

Only West Brom (11) have faced more penalties in the Premier League than Leeds (10) since the start of last season, with the Whites conceding nine out of the 10 faced.

The Toffees have conceded seven goals in their last two league away matches, which is as many as they had in their previous 12 on the road.

Only Patrick Bamford (17 goals, 8 assists) has been directly involved in more league goals for Leeds than Raphinha (7 goals, 8 assists) since their return to the top tier.
