- Huddersfield have won once in their last 11 away league matches
- Just one of QPR’s last 17 matches has featured more than three goals
- Recommended bet: QPR to win
The fourth round of the FA Cup will be grabbing the football headlines this weekend, but there is a key battle at the bottom of the Championship on Sunday when QPR entertain Huddersfield.
Darren Moore’s Terriers have won just one of their last 10 second-tier matches and could be overhauled by Rangers, who are looking to build upon last week’s home success over Millwall and move out of the relegation zone.
Team news
Rangers boss Marti Cifuentes could elect to keep faith with the team that beat the Lions as he has no fresh injury problems or suspensions to deal with, even though Rayan Kolli and Charlie Kelman remain sidelined.
Huddersfield are still without defender Ollie Turton, who is nursing a serious knee injury and may not be seen again for the rest of the season.
New forward Bojan Radulovic will be pushing for a start after making a substitute appearance in the 1-1 draw against Blackburn last week.
The stats
Both teams have scored in the last four meetings between the two sides.
There have been fewer than three goals scored in five of Huddersfield’s last seven matches and the Terriers have won just once in their last 11 away league games.
Just one of QPR’s last 17 games has featured more than three goals.
Huddersfield have scored more than once in just two of their last 14 away league fixtures.
Prediction
Both of these teams are in deep relegation trouble in the Championship and it could be Rangers who make up ground.
The London outfit would send Huddersfield into the bottom three with a win at Loftus Road and there have been encouraging signs under Marti Ciufentes, particularly last week when they gained a valuable win over capital rivals Millwall.
Pressure is starting to be heaped on Terriers boss Darren Moore and there are even suggestions that he could be out of a job if his team lose this one.
And it is difficult to fancy a team who have won just one of their last 11 away games and have been showing little at home to suggest that a strong recovery is on the horizon.
Rangers have won just one of their last 10 matches against these Yorkshire opponents, but there looks a strong chance that trend will end on Sunday, especially if QPR can take great confidence from their success over the Lions, and they are certainly worth backing to beat a team struggling on their travels.
