Chelsea and Manchester City's Sunday showdown tops the bill on an intriguing Matchday 12 in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, struggling Manchester United host lowly Luton while threadbare Tottenham head to Wolves in Saturday's early kick-off.

Wolves vs Tottenham (Saturday, 12.30pm, TNT Sports)

Ange Postecoglou will be without the influential quartet of Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and James Maddison for Spurs' Saturday lunchtime trip to Wolves.

The hosts have won two of the last three meetings between the sides, including this fixture last term — though they have not beaten Tottenham at Molineux in consecutive games since 1968.

Spurs are also enjoying a fine run on the road, currently unbeaten in seven Premier League away matches and are looking to win three in a row for the first time since November 2020.

Arsenal vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)

The formbook suggests Burnley's chances of conquering Arsenal are slim at best, though recent history is on their side.

Remarkably, the Clarets have only lost one of their last five meetings with the Gunners, though they have never scored more than one goal in any of the previous 18 encounters.

Arsenal rarely show any mercy against promoted sides, however. They are unbeaten in 37 such clashes at the Emirates, winning 32 of those.

Crystal Palace vs Everton (Saturday, 3pm)

Everton will be confident of keeping their improved form going when they head to Crystal Palace.

The Toffees have only lost one of the last 17 league meetings between the pair, while also winning six and drawing six of their last 14 trips to Selhurst Park.

Roy Hodgson's hosts will be a tough nut to crack though, having kept clean sheets in a league-high five of their opening 11 outings this term.

Manchester United vs Luton (Saturday, 3pm)

After Wednesday's catastrophic Champions League loss at Copenhagen, Erik ten Hag knows Manchester United can ill afford to slip up against Luton.

Last term, Old Trafford was a fortress with Ten Hag's side losing only two of 33 games in all competitions — they have already suffered defeat in five of 10 home games this season.

The Hatters have lost on their last 18 trips to the Theatre of Dreams, though their only Premier League victory to date did come on the road against Everton.

Bournemouth vs Newcastle (Saturday, 5.30pm, Sky Sports)

Bournemouth and Newcastle meet in Saturday's evening kick-off in a fixture that usually delivers goals.

Both teams have hit the back of the net in eight of the last 10 league meetings, which bodes well for the goal-shy hosts in particular — the Cherries are the only team in the division yet to score from a set-piece this term.

Former home marksman Callum Wilson has been key to Newcastle's nine-game unbeaten streak in domestic competition and one more strike will move the injury doubt level with Peter Beardsley as the Toon's second-highest scorer in the Premier League era (46 goals).

Aston Villa vs Fulham (Sunday, 2pm)

Aston Villa will look to get an extremely promising league campaign back on track when hosting Fulham.

Unai Emery's men surprisingly lost to Nottingham Forest last weekend but have won 12 straight top-flight fixtures at Villa Park, while they have also tasted victory in their last five clashes with London sides.

The omens are not great for Marco Silva's visitors, who have only won five out of 85 matches at opponents starting a fixture in the top six in Premier League history.

Brighton vs Sheffield United (Sunday, 2pm)

After sealing a much-needed first success last week, Sheffield United will attempt to extend Brighton's surprise five-game winless streak in the league.

Oliver Norwood’s 100th-minute winner against Wolves means the visitors head south in good spirits, though an abysmal away record of 23 losses from their last 26 Premier League games should help temper expectations.

Meanwhile, Roberto De Zerbi's Seagulls have scored and conceded in all 11 league outings this term and that record could easily continue given they have not won any of their last six home meetings with the Blades.

Liverpool vs Brentford (Sunday, 2pm)

Brentford have won their last three games but have not beaten Liverpool at Anfield for 86 years.

In fact, the Bees have only scored one goal in their seven trips during that period, while they are without a clean sheet against the Reds in 16 meetings across all competitions.

Jurgen Klopp's hosts are looking to start a season with six straight victories at home for only the third time in the Premier League era, having also done so in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

West Ham vs Nottingham Forest (Sunday, 2pm, Sky Sports)

Just one point separates West Ham and Nottingham Forest ahead of their Sunday clash in East London.

David Moyes' men are faring well in Europe but have now lost three straight in the league, while the Hammers have only won a miserable six of their last 34 Premier League games when excluding matches against newly-promoted clubs.

However, Forest are awful travellers. Since the start of last term, they lead the division for away games lost (17) and away games without scoring (13).

Chelsea vs Manchester City (Sunday, 4.30pm, Sky Sports)

Having spectacularly denied Tottenham the chance to go back top of the table on Monday night, Chelsea now face the new league leaders Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side have been victorious on their last three league trips to Stamford Bridge and have actually won their last six meetings with the Blues in all competitions by an aggregate score of 10-0.

Mauricio Pochettino won four of his first eight meetings with City as a manager but has claimed the spoils in only two of his last 12 clashes with the Citizens.
