Boss Marc Skinner has urged Manchester United to "be more ruthless" ahead of their Women's Super League clash with Everton.

United head into Matchday 4 sixth in the table after one win and two draws and having been knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's showdown at Walton Hall Park, Skinner said: "I want us to be more ruthless,.

"If I look at every goal we've conceded so far there are elements we can control and we haven't — that's a factor of us learning together.

"Even in the game against PSG the other day, we can stop those goals.

"It's a little bit disappointing from our perspective but that's part of professionalism, that's part of growing up and we've got to be more ruthless at both ends.

"I believe this team will always come back in a game — and that's dangerous for an opponent — but we've got to be tidier and more concentrated."

Everton registered their first win of the season thanks to captain Megan Finnigan's header in a 1-0 Merseyside derby success at Liverpool last weekend.

And boss Brian Sorensen hopes that victory can kick-start their campaign.

He said: "It was important. We didn't want to start how we did but we did pretty well to get back on track against Liverpool and now we have a really tough game against United.

"We will have to be at our best to get points. But this league demands that you have to be at your very best every single time so we have to put on a performance offensively and defensively, as we did against Liverpool."

Sorensen has confirmed Toffees midfielder Lucy Hope, 27, will be out for "eight weeks or longer" after sustaining an ankle injury against the Reds.

But striker Martina Piemonte, 25, is back in contention.
