Pablo Fornals' brace and an own goal from Joyskim Dawa saw West Ham ease to a 3-0 win against FCSB in the Europa Conference League.

The routine victory in Romania means that the Hammers top the group with maximum points — and they are the first team to ever achieve that feat.

It was a great evening for West Ham's academy as Oliver Scarles, 16, lined up on the left and Divin Mubama, 18, played as a striker.

Mubama initially celebrated the second as his own after heading home in the 56th minute — but it was later deemed a Dawa own goal.

David Moyes fielded a much-changed side and the only player who remained from Sunday's loss at Manchester United was midfielder Flynn Downes.

Fornals' two goals, one just before the break and one in the 65th minute, sealed the three points — and the playmaker had his say on the victory.

He said: "We were already qualified as first of the group but I think it shows the success of the team. We came here, difficult game, they changed coach.

"We came with a lot of kids which is another point to be really happy and grateful because the academy of football never stops producing good players."

The Spaniard explained how happy he was with the younger players in more detail, stating: "We could see from the first moment Divin [Mubana] and Ollie [Scales], they both played really well.

"I'm really pleased for him [Mubana] because he's a really nice guy and Ollie did a really, really good game."

Moyes rested a number of first-team regulars but his side still managed to win with ease — and he was understandably pleased with the performance.

He said: "Really good night. I thought team played well, I thought our young players played well and overall, we deserved to win the game and I thought some of our football was very good.

"It's great credit to win all the group games. In the earlier games we didn't play as well but our form has started to improve. I didn't expect to win every game, I thought this was a really tough group."

Moyes also revealed his respect for FCSB, saying: "This is an extremely famous football club, worldwide. Winners of big competitions.

"The football has always been strong here but the Premier League has moved on so much, the quality of the players. We probably played better tonight than we did in London."
