England will discover their Euro 2024 group stage opponents tomorrow.

Gareth Southgate's side secured passage to next summer's showpiece in Germany by comfortably finishing top of their qualifying group.

The Three Lions won six of their eight matches, including victories home and away over holders Italy.

Ahead of the draw in Hamburg, we analyse the best and worst-case groups for England.

Best case

Albania, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan or Luxembourg

Publicidad

England, who are now third in FIFA's world rankings, should have no problem getting past Albania and Czech Republic, the two qualifiers from Group E.

Both sides won only four of their eight matches in a group also containing Poland, Moldova and Faroe Islands.

As for Luxembourg and Kazakhstan, they are part of play-off path C alongside Georgia and Greece.

If either nation qualify for their first ever European Championship, Southgate's men would surely fancy their chances of a convincing victory.

Worst case

Hungary, Netherlands, Italy

Italy beat England on penalties in the final of Euro 2020

Like all six teams in pot one, England face the prospect of being drawn into a group of death.

Publicidad

Hungary are being tipped as a potential surprise package next summer due to them going unbeaten in qualifying and boasting Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai as their influential captain.

Elsewhere, the Netherlands are always a force to be reckoned with at major tournaments, with Ronald Koeman's Oranje reaching the quarter-finals of last winter's World Cup in Qatar.

And despite the fact they are defending champions, Italy are in pot four because of their sub-par qualification record — which means a group stage meeting with one of Europe's heavyweights is guaranteed for the Azzurri.
