Arsenal to win and both teams to score

With Manchester City well off the pace this season, Mikel Arteta will be hoping to guide Arsenal to their first league title since 2004, although they will have to peg back runaway leaders Liverpool, who are currently nine points clear.

New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made a decent start to life as the Red Devils boss but now faces his toughest challenge yet as his side visits the Gunners, who have started to find their rhythm since the return of Martin Odegaard.

Team news

Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White are definite absentees for this clash, while Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino and Gabriel are all doubts with minor injuries.

Manchester United will be without some of their key players with Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo both missing through suspension after picking up five yellow cards.

Leny Yoro is still building up match fitness and joins Victor Lindelof on the sidelines while Jonny Evans is a doubt.

The stats

Ruben Amorim has won his last two games as United boss but is back on the road and drew at Ipswich in his first game in charge

Both teams have scored in five of the last six league meetings between these two teams.

Both sides have also seen their last two games go over 3.5 goals.

Bukayo Saka leads the league with 10 assists this season.

Manchester United have only won one of their eight away games in all competitions this season, while, by contrast, the Gunners are unbeaten in nine games at home.

Prediction

The return of Martin Odegaard to this Arsenal side has sparked a real upturn in their fortunes and they seem to have firmly put behind them the form that saw them lose to Bournemouth, Newcastle and Inter Milan in the space of three weeks.

Since the international break, the Gunners have won all three of their outings in all competitions, scoring 13 goals in the process of beating Nottingham Forest, Sporting and West Ham.

They next face the former manager of the Lisbon side, Ruben Amorim, who is just finding his feet as Manchester United manager.

The Red Devils have won two and drawn one of his three games in charge but this is by far their sternest test yet, as reflected in the market.

The issues with the visiting team are not going to be fixed overnight and Arsenal are fancied to pick up a crucial three points in this clash.

However both teams have found the net in five of the last six league meetings between the pair and that is expected to happen once again.
