West Ham vs Nottingham Forest predictions: Hammers can put on another late show
- Six of West Ham's seven Europa League goals have come in the 66th minute or later
- Nottm Forest have won only two Premier League away matches since the start of last season
- Recommended bet: Tie/West Ham Half Time/Full Time
Nottingham Forest have had a tough away schedule at the start of the 2023-24 Premier League season and their first six road trips include defeats at Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
Steve Cooper's men have enjoyed some success in London, drawing 0-0 at Crystal Palace and winning 1-0 at Chelsea, and they will be aiming to frustrate West Ham on Sunday.
The Hammers ground out a 1-0 win over Olympiakos at the London Stadium on Thursday thanks to a late goal from Lucas Paqueta, but they have lost their last three league games so manager David Moyes needs a positive result against Forest.
Team news
West Ham could be at full strength on Sunday as centre-back Kurt Zouma is their only fitness doubt. Midfielders Paqueta and Edson Alvarez are available after serving one-match domestic bans in last weekend's defeat at Brentford.
Nottingham Forest could name the same team that started last weekend's 2-0 home win over Aston Villa. Chris Wood, Felipe, Gonzalo Montiel, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Divock Origi remain sidelined.
The stats
Both teams have scored in six of West Ham's nine league and cup wins this season
The Hammers have lost their last three Premier League matches
Six of West Ham's seven Europa League goals this season have come in the 66th minute or later
Nottingham Forest have won only two of their 25 Premier League away matches since the start of last season
Four of Forest's last seven league games have ended in draws
The Tricky Trees' 11 league matches this season have produced only 12 first-half goals
Prediction
West Ham needed a 90th-minute Jarrod Bowen goal to seal victory in last season's Europa Conference League final and this term's Europa League campaign has also featured plenty of late drama.
Thursday's home game against Olympiakos was goalless until the 73rd minute, when Lucas Paqueta scored the decisive goal, and the home fans may require more patience in Sunday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cooper's side have struggled away from home since returning to the top flight.
Their only away win last season was a 1-0 victory at bottom club Southampton although they have competed well in some difficult assignments on the road this term.
Forest should be confident after last weekend's home win over Aston Villa but they conceded twice in the last 10 minutes of last month's 2-2 draw with Luton at the City Ground.
West Ham have a superior array of attacking options, from the start and coming off the bench, and the Tie/West Ham selection is an appealing bet in the Half Time/Full Time market.
