Carlos Corberan and West Brom will aim to compounds Leeds' early season misery

- West Brom only lost four times at home last season
- Leeds have conceded six goals in two games

West Brom to win

West Brom will fancy their chances of securing a second successive victory in the Championship when they entertain Leeds United at home on Saturday.

The Baggies opened the season with a 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers, while Leeds were held to a 3-3 draw by Portsmouth.

Both teams were dumped out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, with West Brom losing 2-1 to Fleetwood, while Middlesbrough got the better of Leeds with a statement 3-0 win at Elland Road.

Team news

West Brom captain Jed Wallace remains sidelined due to a calf problem, but he is hoping to return in September.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke made eight changes for the defeat to Middlesbrough, and the likes of Illan Meslier, Jayden Bogle, Pascal Struijk, Ilia Gruev, Mateo Joseph, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto are expected to return.

However, Georiginio Rutter could miss out, with reports suggesting he has agreed to join Brighton.

The stats

West Brom had the fifth best record at home in the Championship last season, losing four of their 23 games at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies scored 38 goals in front of their own fans, and they also avoided defeat against Leeds in both meetings last season.

Carlos Corberan's side beat Leeds 1-0 at home in December, four months after a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Leeds have only won one of their previous seven competitive matches in all competitions and have conceded six goals in their two games this season.

Prediction

Leeds have lost some serious firepower in the off-season, and for now, there's been no replacements coming through the door.

While Farke may eventually work his magic, West Brom should be playing Leeds at the perfect time.

The Baggies were one of the best teams in the division on their own patch last season, and there's no reason that will not continue this week.

Leeds have already sold Crysencio Summerville, and if Rutter fails to make the squad, they have lost their two-most creative players from last season.

West Brom should be able to use this to their advantage and secure all three points in Saturday's early kick-off.
