WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury returns to the ring this weekend as he prepares to defend his belt against fellow Brit Derek Chisora.

"The Gypsy King" will fight for just the second time this year, eight months after he stopped Dillian Whyte inside six rounds at Wembley Stadium.

Chisora has also only fought once this year, and the London fighter was too much for Kubrat Pulev, winning via split decision when they met at the O2 Arena in July.

After negotiations with Anthony Joshua broke down, Fury will now face Chisora for the third time, and he is expected to cruise to victory before trying to unify the division in 2023.

Fury should enjoy another stadium showdown

Since returning to the ring in 2018, Fury has become the main man in the heavyweight division and he remains undefeated in 33 fights.

Fury has had to handle the big occasion in every fight since his return, and that comes with the territory after he dethroned Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 in Dusseldorf.

The Manchester heavyweight has fought at the MGM Grand and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas while he was under pressure when headlining Wembley earlier this year.

Unlike some other fighters, Fury seems to find his best form when thrust under the spotlight and his performance against Whyte proved he is still the man to beat in the heavyweight division.

Fury has already beaten Chisora on two occasions in the past, and he is now fighting at a better level, which should mean he enjoys himself on his way to another comfortable victory.

Chisora may not be everybody's cup of tea, but he has enjoyed a remarkable career at the top of the sport.

The London fighter has shared a ring with the likes of Vitali Klitschko, David Haye, Carlos Takam, David Price, Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker, but he has often come up short when challenging for world honours.

At 38, Chisora's time towards the top of the world rankings is coming to an end, and he has been gifted a free shot at a world title.

While many have questioned the need for the fight, a bout between Fury and Chisora is at least an all-British affair, but fans may well be watching the latter compete in his last meaningful contest.

Both fighters have tried to hype up their fight by promising to trade blows early.

With potential fights against Joshua and Usyk in the pipeline for 2023, Fury will want to work on a few things before getting Chisora out of the ring before the final bell.
