Liverpool are eyeing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane as their No1 target should Mohamed Salah leave the club.

The Mirror report that the Reds are willing to break their transfer record to land the former Manchester City speedster, who has been in tremendous form this season.

Sane has scored nine goals in 14 appearances for club and country this term, striking a potent relationship with Harry Kane for the Bundesliga champions.

Salah was reportedly a target for Saudi Pro League clubs over the summer and the expectation is that there will be renewed interest in the forward in the coming months.

And with the Egyptian's contract due to end in the summer of 2025, there is every chance that Jurgen Klopp will cash in on his asset in the next 12 months.

The Saudi league's director of football Michael Emenalo recently said: "Mo is welcome at any time.

"Mo is my personal favourite. There are many world-class players showing interest. It's a place where you can go and have fun and definitely improve their economics."

A deal for Sane would not come cheap, with Real Madrid also expected to make their interest clear to Bayern.
