- Cardiff are yet to score a league goal this season
- Both the teams' meetings last season finished 2-0
- Recommended bet: Under 2.5 goals

Swansea v Cardiff is the only game of the day in the Championship on Sunday (15:00 kick-off) and both teams will be hoping that derby success can kick-start their campaigns.

The Swans have made the better start with three points on the board after their first two matches, while the Bluebirds began the weekend in last place in the table after two defeats.

Midfielder Joe Allen could play for Swansea after recovering from a hamstring injury but Sam Parker, Aimar Govea, Josh Ginnelly and Andy Fisher are still sidelined.

Cardiff have also received a boost with the news that Aaron Ramsey has been passed fit, while new signings Anwar El Ghazi and Jesper Daland are ready to make their debuts.

Captain Joe Ralls faces a fitness test after getting hurt against Burnley, but Callum O'Dowda and Calum Chambers are available.

The stats

Both teams have scored in only one of the last 14 South Wales derbies.

Swansea have won five of the teams' last six meetings.

Ten of the teams' last 14 encounters have produced under 2.5 goals.

Swansea lost 10 of their 23 home league matches last season.

Cardiff scored only 26 goals in 23 away games last season.

Cardiff have scored no goals and conceded seven in their first two league matches.

Prediction

No quarter will be given in the latest edition of the South Wales derby and that could result in a tight and low-scoring encounter in Swansea.

The home side are favourites after getting their first win on the board when beating managerless Preston 3-0 last time out, while Cardiff head into this landmark contest without a Championship point on the board after losing to Sunderland and Burnley to open their season.

It's not all bad news for the Bluebirds, though, as manager Erol Bulut could be boosted by the availability of Aaron Ramsey and new signings Anwar El Ghazi and Jesper Daland.

Their defeat to the Clarets last week was not quite as one-sided as the 5-0 score suggests either, as Cardiff had more shots in the game but were punished by a combination of some clinical finishing and a couple of calamitous errors from their goalkeeper and defence.

If they keep their eye on the ball this time, Cardiff should be able to make this a close contest, in keeping with the history of this fixture. Both teams have scored in only one of the last 14 Swansea v Cardiff clashes, with 10 of those games producing under 2.5 goals.

Another cagey encounter is likely with the teams having failed to find the net in three of their four combined league matches this season.

An improved showing from Cardiff can't be ruled out and a low-scoring draw would be no surprise, but taking under 2.5 goals may be the best bet.
