Sheffield Wednesday and QPR headed into the international break separated by eight places in the Championship table, but that represented only a deficit of two points for the Owls after each team's first four games.

Even so, the London side will be much happier with their start to the season and have a good chance of extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games in the 15:00 kick-off.

James Beadle is expected to continue in goal for Wednesday as Ben Hamer continues to deal with a finger injury.

Wednesday were hoping to improve on last season's 20th-place finish in the Championship this time around, but that is exactly where they found themselves again after the first four matches of the new season.

QPR were just two places and three points better off at the end of last term, but they have made a promising start in their quest to return to the top half of the table, with two draws and a win since their 3-1 home defeat by West Brom on the opening day.

That loss, inspired by a Josh Maja hat-trick, does not look so bad now the Baggies remain unbeaten and the Super Hoops look to be a progressive outfit under manager Marti Cifuentes this season.

Their 2-1 away win at Luton before the break caught the eye and included a goal from recent signing Nicolas Madsen and they look capable of a positive result in South Yorkshire.

Owls manager Danny Rohl is fighting a number of injury issues coming out of the break and any weaknesses in the home defence could be exploited by the visitors.

Wednesday have conceded nine goals without scoring against Sunderland, Leeds and Millwall in their last three league matches and may struggle to halt that slide on Saturday.
