It is the final card of the two-day meeting from Salisbury where the feature race is the Group Three Sovereign Stakes over 1m.

There are eight races to enjoy from the Wiltshire racecourse, with the action beginning at 1.15pm and running through to 5.10pm.

1:15pm — Byerley Stud British EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies' Stakes (7f)

It was almost a winning debut for MISTRIX last month at Doncaster (6f) as she finished second of eight runners in a novice contest. The filly finished just a short head behind the winner in what was a very encouraging performance.

George Scott's two-year-old was running on strongly in that sprint race and had it been over further, she probably would have been victorious. Expect to see her build upon that performance and appreciate this extra furlong.

Selection: Mistrix

2:55pm — Peter Britton 60 Years Racing At Salisbury Fillies' Handicap (6f)

Since dropping back down to 6f, SILENT FLAME has been in great form.

She scored at Ffos Las last month and then came close to following up from a 4lb higher mark at Nottingham, going down by just a neck to a progressive gelding from Karl Burke's yard.

This filly has only had five handicap appearances, so she remains open to improvement herself. She has prevailed over this C&D before so it is a venue she will enjoy racing at and she arrives with a strong chance.

Selection: Silent Flame

3:30pm - Wateraid Mildren Construction Handicap (1m)

This handicap contest over 1m has an open feel to it and although there are some progressive three-year-olds in the field, it is the oldest horse in the race — FITZROVIA — that they all have to beat.

Ed de Giles' C&D winner is dropping down in class following a recent victory in a class 5 contest. He needs to concede weight all around here but he should not have any problems doing that with a mark of 64 remaining very workable.

Selection: Fitzrovia

4:05pm - D & N Construction Sovereign Stakes (1m, Group 3)

This assignment is a much easier one for MEGALLAN given his last appearance came in the Group 1 French Derby at Chantilly, where he finished down the field.

Prior to that outing, he prevailed in a Listed contest at Newbury (1m) and finished a close second in the Dante behind Hurricane Lane.

Given what the Godolphin horse has gone on to achieve, with victories coming in the Irish Derby and Grand Prix de Paris, the Dante form has been boosted. This 1m trip is probably Megallan's most favoured distance, so he can take the feature race on this card at Salisbury.

Selection: Megallan

4:40pm - British EBF Premier Fillies' Handicap (1m4f)

Sir Michael Stoute's filly Maytal looks to have solid claims

Sir Michael Stoute's Sea The Stars filly MAYTAL got off the mark on her penultimate outing in a maiden contest at Haydock (1m3½f). She did not fare badly on her handicap debut last time at Newbury over the 1m5f trip, finishing just under two lengths behind the winner.

The Juddmonte-owned filly remains off the same mark of 85, which gives her a great chance of adding to her tally today. She also remains unexposed — particularly on turf.

 Selection: Maytal
