- All seven of Plymouth's Championship wins have been at home this term
- Birmingham have lost eight of their 11 away games in the league
- Recommended Bet: Plymouth to win

It has been a tough start to life for Wayne Rooney at Birmingham with the Midlands club having won only two matches since he took charge in mid-October.

They find themselves only a handful of points above the drop zone heading into the next batch of Championship fixtures and this weekend's opponents Plymouth are level on 26 points with the Blues.

That makes for a competitive contest, although Plymouth will be hoping their excellent home record can see them over the line.

Team news

Plymouth have no new injury concerns ahead of this fixture.

Visitors Birmingham have a lengthy list of injuries including Kevin Long, Cody Drameh, Ethan Laird, Alfie Chang and George Hall.

The stats

Plymouth have picked up 22 of their 26 Championship points at Home Park this season.

Birmingham have lost three of their last five matches in all competitions with their only win in that run coming away to Cardiff.

The Midlands club have lost seven of their 11 matches since Wayne Rooney was appointed manager back in October.

Prediction

Plymouth ran out 3-2 winners at home to Rotherham last time out and as long as the Pilgrims are on their own patch, they can give any side a game.

Only Ipswich, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton have collected more points at home than Argyle, who have won seven of their 11 league matches in their own backyard.

They have also scored 27 goals in the process - that is just shy of 80 per-cent of their league total - and they are worth backing in their final game before Christmas.

This weekend's visitors are Birmingham, who are level on points with Plymouth in the Championship standings but at a disadvantage given they are visiting Home Park.

And the Blues are not on the best of runs anyway, having made a poor start to life under Wayne Rooney.

Rooney's first 11 games in charge of Birmingham have featured seven defeats, two draws and just two wins, meaning they have taken just eight points from a possible 33 in his tenure so far.

He will of course take time to implement his methods at the Midlands club but they are only a handful of points off the drop zone and things could go from bad to worse this weekend.

Plymouth have lost only two of their last six games and both of those matches were on the road to Coventry and Leicester.

They did, however, win all three home games within that run, beating Sunderland, Stoke and Rotherham by an aggregate scoreline of 7-3.
