Michael Cheek’s stoppage-time penalty earned Bromley a 1-1 draw at home to Barrow in League Two.

The Bluebirds took a 21st-minute lead when Gerard Garner flicked home Katia Kouyate’s cross and Theo Vassell could have doubled the lead on the half-hour but skied his effort from a corner.

The second half witnessed a better performance from the Ravens.

Danny Imray forced a good save from Barrow goalkeeper Wyll Stanway and from the resultant corner Louis Dennis headed inches wide.

Yet it was Barrow who could have put the game to bed 15 minutes from time, Kian Spence’s shot on the spin forcing a great reaction save from Bromley keeper Grant Smith.

With Bromley pushing for an equaliser, Cheek had a point-blank strike brilliantly stopped by Stanway.

However, Bromley’s top scorer was not to be denied. Omar Sowunmi’s header was adjudged to have been handled and Cheek levelled from the spot.

Barrow manager Stephen Clemence saw red for his vigorous protestations as the game ended all square.
