Marc Skinner was "not happy" with Manchester United's point at Brighton — despite equalising in the dying seconds.

Brighton took the lead after 30 minutes when Elisabeth Terland calmly slotted past Mary Earps but a brilliant strike from Ella Toone in the 78th minute levelled matters.

Guro Bergsvand thought she had headed home the winner in the last minute of normal time but Rachel Williams made it 2-2 in dramatic fashion.

United boss Skinner, 40, said: "We are not happy with a point.

"We need to take three points. You create that amount of chances, you have got to take them.

"We want to be better than that. It's great that you come back but we shouldn't have to come back. Credit to Brighton for the energy, they were good.

"We created enough to score five or six and we need to take accountability and be better than that.

"It's always frustrating when you don't defend.

"We are open because we are trying to play and they come through the heart of us and score."

Skinner believes the club's summer recruitment may be behind his side's relatively slow start to the Women's Super League campaign.

He added: "We are also building relationships. We have had a collective where we have new players and it takes time to build relationships.

"But we have to come here and win. We create the chances but we want to finish them and that is the responsibility of Manchester United."
