- Both teams have scored in seven of Luton's 10 Premier League games this season
- Liverpool have scored 24 goals in their last nine away league games
- Recommended bet: Liverpool to win 4-1

Liverpool finished last season in fine form, winning seven of their last nine Premier League matches, and they have banked 23 points from their first 10 games of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Reds are hot favourites to claim another three points against promoted Luton at Kenilworth Road and the injury-hit Hatters face a tough test this weekend.

Manager Rob Edwards has led his side to draws against Wolves and Nottingham Forest, as well as a valuable 2-1 win at Everton, but Luton have lost their other seven games and will need to put in a memorable performance if they are to avoid defeat against Liverpool.

Team news

Luton are missing the injured Amari'i Bell, Reece Burke, Mads Andersen, Dan Potts, Luke Berry, Jordan Clarke and Albert Sambi Lokonga.

Liverpool's Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are injured.

Luis Diaz has been training but may not play due to the kidnapping of his father in Colombia.

The stats

Rob Edwards' Luton have failed to score in only three of their first 10 Premier League matches

Both teams have scored in seven of Luton's 10 Premier League games this season.

The Hatters have failed to score in the first half of nine of their 10 matches this term.

Luton have conceded 20 goals in the league, 14 of them in the second half.

Liverpool have kept only five clean sheets in 24 away league matches since the start of last season.

Mohamed Salah has scored 20 goals in his last 34 appearances against promoted clubs.

Liverpool have scored 24 goals in their last nine away league games.

Prediction

Liverpool's only dropped points in the Premier League this season have come in a controversial 2-1 defeat at Tottenham and tricky away trips to Chelsea and Brighton.

Sunday's fixture at Luton should be more straightforward for the free-scoring Reds and a 4-1 Liverpool win is worth a punt in the Correct Score market.

Clean sheets have been a rarity for Liverpool on their travels since the start of last season but their attacking firepower is not in doubt.

Luton have failed to score in only three of their first 10 matches on their return to the top flight, finding the net in defeats to Aston Villa, Brighton, West Ham and Burnley, and they can land a blow on the visiting defence.

However, Jurgen Klopp's men are averaging 2.3 goals per game in the league despite a testing set of early fixtures and they should be backed to bolster their tally against the pre-season relegation favourites.
